NDC’s Deputy Treasurer Dares Hawa Koomson: ‘Come and Misbehave in Volta Region, and You Will Smell Pepper’

Hon. Wisdom Akpabli, Assemblymember for Wute Electoral Area and Deputy Treasurer of the Akatsi South Branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in a bold and provocative statement, has challenged the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Hawa Koomson, to replicate her actions in the Volta Region if she is a woman enough.
In a Facebook post today, Mr. Akpabli, affectionately known as Avenor Okudzeto, asserted that Hon. Hawa Koomson’s behavior has been exceedingly dangerous, reprehensible, and contrary to the principles of Ghana’s democracy. He challenged her to bring her lawless tendencies to the Volta Region, implying that she would receive a fitting corrective response.
“If Hawa Koomson and her cohorts think they can intimidate and bully others, they should come and try it in Volta Region too. We are ready for them; we have their medicines,” he stated.
This statement follows Minister Koomson’s recent involvement in a violent incident in the Central Region, which has sparked widespread condemnation. Hon. Akpabli’s remarks are seen as a direct challenge to the Minister and a testament to the NDC’s resolve to stand firm against perceived oppression by the NPP, highlighted by the arrest of Hon. Naa Koryoo, the NDC’s Parliamentary candidate in Awutu Senya East.
The Deputy Treasurer’s statement has generated significant buzz in political circles, with many interpreting it as a sign of the NDC’s determination to defend its interests against perceived aggression by the ruling NPP government.
Hon. Akpabli also advised Hawa Koomson to start preparing her handing over notes as Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East Constituency, suggesting that she will face a decisive defeat in the December 7th polls.
